Syllabus and Courses Structure under Semester System :

    The Syllabus for each paper should be divided into modules or units. Each units should be assigned marks (Preferably equal marks for each unit) so that the question paper of the final semester cover the entire syllabus.

    The minimum total marks in a under graduate course should be (preferably) in between 2400 - 3000. Due to different nature of subjects with practical or otherwise, the individual stream may make the final decision regarding the total marks.

    In the Sixth Semester there must be at least one paper where the students are given the oppurtunity to apply their knowlege. The course must be designed that students creativity is encouraged. This could be a small academic project', an advanced level practical work including literature survey on a topic, field / survey work or any other work which may induce creativity among students. The students must submit two copies of the Project Work prepared in the format of a Ph.D. or M.Phil thesis. The student will have to define the work before an external examination and internal Board comprising of three teachers including the supervisor / guide. The external examiner will evaluate 80% and the Internal Board will evaluate out 20% of the total marks in such a paper.


Courses of Study :

The college offers the priviledge of imparting studies in H.S. & U.G. level course under the aegis of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and Gauhati University respectively. The curriculum options are as under :


H.S. Arts Course :

The students of H.S. Course may offer four (4) optional subjects out of which one (1) automatically becomes the fourth subject in which they secure least marks. These are complusory and optional subjects.
