The Central Library of the college is partialy computerised and it has a collection of more than 14,000 books including text, references and other documents. It subscribes several vernacular and English Dailies, eeklies, fortnightly and monthly journals and magazines suited to the tastes and needs of both the students and teachers. The Library has 6 (six) encyclopedias in deferent subjects. It has a special collection of popular old Assamese Magazines. Besides the Library acquired some rare bookson the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi.
The College has a research and career development cell to encourage, monitor, guide and address the issues of research. As a result large number of our teaching staff have involved in research or research related activities. Some of them are completed their research work under different Indian Universities and some are registered for the same.
The college has a study centre (Code 0127) for open and Distance learning under Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU). Students (both boysand girls) can take the benefit of the following courses of study through this study centre.
1) M.A. - Assamese, English, Education and Political Science. 2) B.A. ; B.Com. ; BBA & BCA
3) (i) Diploma in Assamese Journalism(DAJ) , (ii) Diploma in Creative Writing in English(DCWE) , (iii) Diploma in Library Science (DLIS)
Admission for these courses starts in the month of May / June every year.
Hostel Facilities : To provide residential facilities to the needy and meritorious student coming from the remote places / areas of the district, the college authority has constructed two well equipped hostel with all modern amenities within the area of the college campus and another hostel block is under construction.
Other Facilities : Since the inception it has been the aim of the college to extent as much as possible for all-round development of students and accordingly the following facilities have been made available.
The guidelines provided in the following pages will guide and facilitate the institution in the creation and operation of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The work of the IQAC is the first step towards internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement initiatives. Its success depends upon the sense of belongingness and participation it can inculcate in all the constituents of the institution. It will not be yet another hierarchical structure or a record-keeping exercise in the institution.
